Jennifer is an established family law barrister, with significant experience in representing clients in all aspects of family law proceedings, with a focus on cases involving children

Family

Children (Public Law)

Jennifer is regularly instructed to represent local authorities, children (through their court-appointed Children’s Guardian), parents, family members (including prospective and appointed special guardians) and intervenors.

Jennifer represents clients throughout public law proceedings, including in emergency protection and/or interim care hearings, case management hearings, fact finding hearings issue resolution hearings, final hearings and appeals.

Jennifer has a wealth of experience in representing clients in proceedings involving allegations of non-accidental injuries, chronic neglect, sexual abuse, alcohol and/or substance misuse, mental health difficulties and fabricated induced illness (FII).

Jennifer has particular interest and experience in cases involving complex medical issues (including pharmacology and forensic toxicology).

Children (Private Law)

Jennifer is  regularly instructed to represent parents, extended family members and  children (through their appointed rule 16.4 guardian). Jennifer represents  clients in all forms of private law proceedings, including those relating to  applications for;

• child arrangements, specific issue and prohibited steps orders;

• internal and external relocation;

• non-molestation orders; and

• occupation orders.

Jennifer has  experience in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse, sexual abuse,  alcohol and/or substance misuse, parental alienation and implacable  hostility.

Jennifer  represents clients at any and all stages of proceedings, including the first  hearing, directions hearings, fact-finding hearings, final hearings and  appeals.

DOLS in Care Proceedings

Jennifer has experience of representing clients in public law proceedings involving issues concerning Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (‘DOLS’).

Domestic Violence and injunctions

Jennifer has experience of representing clients in relation to applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders.

Immigration

Jennifer has experience and accepts instructions in the field of immigration. She advises both private individuals and businesses in relation to complex issues in all areas of immigrations.

Jennifer also accepts instructions to work for clients on a pro bono basis.
