KBG Chambers Probate Group will undertake all types of instructions including advising, drafting and representing clients in the courts in relation to wills, probate and estates matters. Our expertise extends both to the specialist advisory role of counsel in non-contentious issues and to the conduct of litigation when such matters become contentious, including in disputes between beneficiaries or with executors over probate and testamentary capacity, under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 and arising out of the execution of the trusts provided for under wills.

Members of the team are regularly instructed in the following areas :-

The PST team has access to a full online library and additional research material, via the Chancery Bar Association, which ensure clients receive the best advice in this growing and dynamic specialism. The PST team also provides regular Continuing Professional Development seminars on recent developments.

Deni Mathews, Head of Chambers, described the recent launch of the PST team, as “An exciting development in the South West, there is a real local demand in this developing area of law. Chambers will continue to serve clients in Cornwall and Devon. In the past a significant amount of work in this area has been sent out of the South West, we now offer a full range of advice and advocacy and a competitive alternative for those seeking assistance in this area of work.”
